Report Suspected Abuse

There is always the question of who should report when abuse is suspected. While each school may have a defined protocol, as an individual educator, you will want to file a report with the state in addition to following your school’s protocol. Ask your school principal or lead teacher if your school has a designated school liaison for reporting and what their protocol may be. But always be sure to say something if you hear or see something.

Anyone can report if there is a suspicion.

If you suspect a child of being abused or neglected, call 1-888-SOS-CHILD / 1-888-767-2445. You may do so anonymously.
