Tip 4: Communicate with Families

Communication with families is primarily the role of the lead teacher.

Communicating student progress, academic concerns, or behavioral issues should always come from the lead teacher.

However, general communication with families can come from community educators. For example, you might be asked to share details about a project that you're working on with students, but you should not share the academic strengths and needs of the student with whom you are working.
